1955 Chevy Sedan Delivery Detailed Description

1. BODY AND EXTERIOR

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Bodywise a “frame off’ rotisserie restored 1955 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery. Prior to restoration the body was completely stripped via the Redi-Strip process. The body received a phosphate treatment to inhibit rust. New floor panels, and quarter panels were installed during restoration. Stainless steel fasteners are used throughout.

EXTERIOR FINISH: The car is finished in Dupont Smoothie Yellow. Paint quality is good.

FRONT FENDERS: Restored original units. Patch panels were installed around the headlamp “eyebrows”. The inner fenders are in good restored condition, finished to match the exterior color.

HOOD: Good restored condition. The hinges and latches work well, fit is good. The underside is well finished.

ROOF: Good restored condition.

DOORS: Good restored condition, and the hinges have been rebuilt.

RUNNING BOARDS, ROCKER PANELS & DOOR SILLS: The rocker panels are in good restored condition. New aluminum threshold plates have been installed.

REAR FENDERS: New Nomad quarter panels and custom-built wheel tubs were installed for tire clearance. Workmanship is good.

TRUNK: The rear door is in good restored condition. All hinges and latches have been rebuilt and chrome plated. The cargo area is trimmed in black wool carpet.

GRILLE AND BRIGHT WORK: The bumpers have been re-chromed. Reproduction badges, head, park and tail lamp trim are used. The remaining chrome and stainless steel trim is in good re-plated or re-polished condition. Miata door handles are used.

LIGHTING AND ELECTRICAL DETAIL: Professionally rewired using an aftermarket kit.

2. GLASS

TYPE AND CONDITION:  A new tinted, shaded windshield and dark tint side glass is installed with good original rear door glass. New channels, cubbers, and fuzz have been installed throughout.

3. CHASSIS

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Restored original chassis Redi-Stripped and repainted black epoxy. The center crossmember has been modified to accommodate the late model transmission. A new fuel tank and brake lines have been installed.

MOTOR AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT DETAIL: GM 350 cubic inch V8 ”Crate Motor”.

Features are:

• Edelbrock carburetor

• Chrome valve covers

• Billet aluminum air cleaner

• Billet aluminum pulleys and bracketry

The engine compartment is clean, painted and polished to show quality condition.

COOLING SYSTEM: A custom aluminum radiator is fitted.

Features are;

• Cool Flex radiator hoses

• Polished stainless steel overflow tank

• Five blade flex fan

EXHAUST SYSTEM: Ceramic coated tubular headers to dual stainless steel exhaust with Borla mufflers.

TRANSMISSION, CLUTCH ASSEMBLY & DRIVELINE: Rebuilt GM 700 R4 automatic with 3000 stall speed torque converter and custom built driveshaft.

FRONT SUSPENSION: Rebuilt stock independent unit.

Features are;

• Corvette dual master cylinder

• Power booster

• Disc brakes

• New springs and shocks

REAR SUSPENSION: New parallel leaf springs relocated in board for tire clearance. New tube shocks are remounted from the upper body to the frame.

DIFFERENTIAL: 2001 GM 12 bolt with 3:42 ratio and disc brakes.

GENERAL UNDERBODY CONDITION: Very clean, painted and well detailed to show quality condition.

TIRES:

• Front: Primera AS Touring Radial PI 85/65R15

• Rear: Hoosier Pro Sheet 29x 15-50R15

WHEELS:

• Front: Cragar polished five spoke 15x6

• Rear: Cragar polished five spoke 15x 10

HUBCAPS: Cragar center caps.

4. INTERIOR

INTERIOR TRIM: The interior is trimmed in black and butternut ultrasuede and black synthetic leather (new 2005). The upholstery pattern extends from the door panels through to the rear area.

DASHBOARD: Restored original dashboard

Features are;

• Dakota Digital gauge panel and clock

• Custom Auto Sound AM/FM/cassette

STEERING COLUMN & CONTROLS INCLUDING GEAR SELECTOR: An “Ididit” tilt column topped by a Grant custom wheel and BM console mounted floor shifter are used. The custom built console houses the inverter, power window controls, overdrive control, and glove box. A play station/DVD screen is fitted in the rear console.

FRONT SEATS: Modified Pontiac Grand AM 6-way power bucket seats are fitted, re-upholstered in black ultrasuede with butternut graphic design complementing the front seat and side panel designs.

REAR SEATS: A modified 1955 Chevrolet station wagon rear seat is fitted. The folding seat is upholstered in black and butternut ultrasuede.

HEADLINER: The custom built headliner in black sculpted ultrasuede is fined with a sculpted console housing the interior lamps, play station screen and radio speakers.

DOOR PANELS: The custom-built door panels in black and butternut ultrasuede feature custom-built arm rests in a sculpted design extending the length of the car interior. Custom-built kick panels house the radio speakers.

CARPETS AND MATS: Black wool carpet with black ultrasuede trim throughout.

REAR PACKAGE TRAY: NA

DOOR & WINDOW CONTROLS AND LOCKING MECHANISMS:
